The Situation

uPlay is an integrated products design company that needed a strong web presence to introduce their new uPro golf GPS device to the market. The company hoped to generate pre-launch buzz and adopt a sophisticated brand identity that was polished yet innovative. They needed a complete web infrastructure with advanced functionality that would give users the ability to manage course downloads and update their device while allowing dealers to sign up for important product sales information. They also needed an integrated online and offline marketing campaign to spark interest in the new device and related product services.

Strategy

Cuker Design developed a complete web platform that showcased the uPro with a sleek, state-of-the-art 3D rotation and an interactive demonstration of product features. The new site also includes an advanced golf course selector and full ecommerce functionality. We developed an integrated marketing strategy that included a targeted Search Engine Marketing campaign, corporate print collateral, and strategic ad placement in leading media sources like Golfweek magazine to create a buzz.

Results

The advanced web platform and strategic marketing initiative helped uPro to become a leading competitor in the golf GPS space in a short amount of time. GolfWeek magazine enthusiastically endorsed the device in a February cover story and Forbes.com reported that it “outperforms every device on the market.” uPlay was able to sell their entire first shipment before the device was even officially available, and a strong flow of dealer inquiries and expanding client base are creating long-term sustainable revenue for the company in a highly competitive market.
