The Situation

As an emerging manufacturer in the racquetball industry, Gearbox looked to build a sophisticated branding site that would introduce their top-of-the-line products to the international community and an e-commerce platform that would allow for easy online transactions. They needed a solid marketing campaign that would drive customers to both sites, develop their brand, drive direct sales, and promote their commission-based sales representative program.

Strategy

Cuker Design set out to develop a high-end, interactive brand website and a complete e-commerce store that would capture the superior quality of Gearbox products. We implemented a strategic Search Engine Marketing campaign to strengthen brand awareness and help secure top search engine placement, and a targeted email marketing strategy to grow a loyal client base. To communicate the sophistication of the Gearbox brand we added state-of-the-art video and advanced Flash functionality to the brand site. To streamline internal business processes in the Gearbox store, we developed backend software that allows sales reps to track their sales productivity.

Results

Since the launch of the Gearbox brand and E-commerce sites in August 2007, the company’s international exposure and online revenues have increased exponentially. The buzz around the brand has lead to close partnerships with two of the top racquetball association in the United States. A growing email database has strengthened communication with Gearbox customers around the world. A refined new image and dominant Web presence has helped position Gearbox as an elite manufacturer in the racquetball industry and has helped the company secure long-term, sustainable revenue in less than a year.
