DC Shoes is an international footwear company that helped pioneer the evolution of urban street culture within the skateboarding community over a decade ago. The company needed a Web platform for delivering their video footage in a streamlined manner and increasing site traffic to the DC network of Web sites. The site also needed an infrastructure that would allow for the quick and easy uploading of video content and other important functionality.
Strategy
Cuker Design delivered a comprehensive Web platform developed with our own proprietary Django-based content managing system. Because of the tight-knit nature of the skateboarding community, the new site was built with complete content sharing capabilities, including embeddable links within all the full screen videos, a team blog, specialized RSS feeds and photo galleries. The optimized site and streamlined server setup make it possible to deliver this content with speed and ease.

Winning rave reviews from skateboarding industry leaders, www.dcskateboarding.tv has already seen an explosive number of visitors. Because the traffic is highly-targeted, the average user visits for a longer amount of time and explores more pages – strengthening brand loyalty while increasing traffic to the other DC sites at the same time. These dedicated visitors have helped fuel the buzz by posting their favorite DC skate videos on their personal social networking profiles and personal blogs all over the world.
